Brown Literary Arts

Could anyone share anything about Brown’s literary arts major?

It’s one of the best programs for screenwriting and creative writing. The classes are very small, and the professors are world class. You can take classes in screenwriting, fiction writing, poetry, non-fiction writing, etc. there’s also a multitude of workshops. The buildings in which some of the Literary Arts classes are held are also very cool.

Thanks so much! @ap012199

Literary arts majors get first crack at those world-class professors. If you’re not concentrating in literary arts, then you are more likely to have a TA. The department does have an excellent reputation.

Thank you very much! @fireandrain

They have TA’s teaching the writing classes?

@mathyone TAs or adjuncts taught many of the writing classes, at least as of a few years ago. Perhaps it has changed – although I doubt it. As I said, the well-known profs do teach – but as you can well imagine, there are more students who want to take those classes than seats in the seminar rooms.
