I’m starting my college application this year and Brown has really impressed me. Since most schools require me to tell why I am attracted to them, I need to do some research on every school to do that composition well. So as an anime fan and amateur painter I came up with the idea of college personifications… As far as I’ve known, Brown is famous for its freedom and openness, and its students need to be self-directed to succeed. Yet I still need more representative information about Brown to synthesize its “characteristics”…I hope guys who are also fascinated with Brown could assist me with that. Thanx a lot!!

If you want your app to be original, don’t ask random people on the internet for advice. The school might consider it to be plagiarism.

I don’t think they’d consider online research plagarism, however, that’s not a very mature / sophisticated essay topic. it also only deals with superficial characteristics, and is more about the school than about you. i would find something different to go with.

You referenced your painting skills, so are you going to describe a personified version of the college or actually draw it, maybe as an art supplement? I pictured something like this
http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/341/0/1/ivy_league_by_mokiyan-d34g57d.png

stereotyping the schools as characters is a terrible idea. also, art supplements are supposed to be substantial portfolios of your work, not single drawings about the schools

hahaha Cornell looks so miserable…

And I kind of disagree/agree with NapoleonInRags. IMO, it could either turn out very silly and stupid or brilliant. But it’s definitely a risky idea in the first place.
