***Brown University 2018 Transfer Students Official Discussion Thread***

Thanks for the information everyone. I’ll keep you updated after the interview.

@SmartJarhead Congrats again for the acceptance!

@Rob3223 It’s not an acceptance, just a phone interview.

So I’ve been checking my portal everyday and it still says that my college report is missing; I sent it the first time a month before I submitted my application and then had it resent when I received an email of my application being incomplete. Other schools have received it but my Brown portal still lists it as missing. I’m kind of anxious now because they said April 3 was the last day to submit any materials; do you think this is a delay in their processing of materials or should I be worried?

@avocadough Brown (unlike Penn) processed my materials relatively quickly.

So, if it’s been a really long time, I would worry that they may have just lost it. I would see if your college counselor (or whoever is in charge of this admin stuff) can email it to them; they accept documents via email, and it would be almost instantaneous. I think if you explain your situation (that you mailed it TWICE, once being a long time ago) they will hopefully be fine with it.

Good luck!

@SmartJarhead They’re synonymous.

@Rob3223 Ah okay. Thank you! I’ll try to email them tomorrow… Fingers crossed :-S

Also, unrelated, but I applied to Penn, too! What’s your major?

@avocadough

Good luck! Yeah, I think I’ve seen you on there! Applying to Wharton, WBU?

@rob3223 Oh cool! Good luck to you too! Hopefully we’ll see each other on campus this Fall. I’m applying to Arts and Sciences as an IR major and am hoping to double w Econ :slight_smile:

My portal was updated today with the last of my materials (my college report) so it seems like it just takes them a long time to process stuff! So if anyone else is concerned about a similar issue, I’m sure it’ll be fine; seems to be more of a processing delay :slight_smile:

@avocadough Glad everything worked out:)

Just had the interview today, it was with an Alum who was in the military as well. We just talked about Brown, its students, transferring, and the open curriculum.

@SmartJarhead Did he mention the acceptance, or is it just silently implied?

@Rob3223 No acceptance mentioned. I think I’m being considered for their RUE program because that’s what he usually interviews people for. He also said if I get rejected to reapply next year because Brown likes to see dedication and commitment to their school. So I’d say that he has no idea if I am in or not and that this was just an Alumni interview like other schools offer.

@SmartJarhead Congrats on the interview, I know nothing is certain yet but I’d take it as a good sign. I’ve seen you on the Penn forums too and think you have a pretty good chance at these schools. If you don’t mind me asking, where else did you apply, and what’s your top choice?

@Neurophile Yeah, I applied all over lol. I figured “screw it if I don’t apply I won’t get in for sure, so might as well throw it out there”.

I applied to: Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth, Vandy, Duke, Stanford, Georgetown, Yale, Northwestern, Rice, Claremont, Pitzer, UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC, UCSD, and UC Santa Barbara.

My number 1 would probably be Stanford, but honestly, I don’t expect to get into any of those top schools.

@SmartJarhead We have a decent amount of overlap - I applied to Vandy and USC as well (and Penn & Brown obviously). Best of luck for Stanford.

@Neurophile Thank you! Whats your number 1 pick?

@SmartJarhead Penn is my top choice.

@Neurophile Nice, Penn is an awesome school.
