My interview was the worst!

It lasted a half hour (rather short...) and the interviewer basically just read off the questions that Brown asks them to think about when writing the evaluation. (You know... What will this person bring to Brown? What is there personality like? You know, things that should be evaluated and not asked directly.)

It pretty much went like this: She would ask me a question. I would answer, taking a couple minutes or so. Then she would ask me another question, and I would answer that, never taking the time to ask further questions on what I had just spoken on. It was an interrogation, not an interview. Think of it this way: She might as well have been a dentist asking me if I floss my teeth often.

I've had great interviews where the interviewer was keen and actually interested in what I was saying. This woman just wanted to find something to write about and get it over with.

I tried to steer the interview so it was more like a conversation, but it honestly didn't work. She was a sociology professor, and I asked her why she was interested in it. Her response? "I just love it." If I had given that same answer, it would not have been considered adequate. And yet she decided to respond with the kind of answer a twelve year old would give.

I'm severly disappointed with this. I tried my hardest to make the interview work, but I know that she's just going to end up writing a mundane review that most definately doesn't reflect my attributes or my passions. I hope none of your interviews go as badly as this...
