Brown vs Berkeley

Brown : Computer Science/Engineering + Applied Math + Economics
Berkeley : Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (plan to minor in Computer Science)

I am non-Californian Asian. I plan to study Financial Engineering in grad school. I want good tight-knit community and helpful students. Also, dedicative and excellent professors. Good opportunity for internship and firm recruitment. Lastly, good chance for my dream grad school. (Stanford, Haas, Sloan, ...)

6 of one, half a dozen....

Cost difference?

No cost difference :)

Hmmmm.
Brown.
Says this Cal alum.

Brown without a doubt. I am biased, but Brown is a great undergrad school and Berkeley is a great grad school in my mind. If you look at the num, bers, Brown has a MUCH stronger undergrad population.

Why don't you apply to Columbia. They have an awesome financial engineering undergraduate program.

I got waitlisted from Columbia...

Since you're a non-Californian, you're gonna pay OOS tuition for Berkeley. More bang for your buck at Brown...I'd choose Brown for applied math/economics. If you're deadset on computer science or electrical engineering, I say Cal is a better choice.

Brown all of the way! Great undergrad education and your peers will be from all walks of life and the world. Berkeley is a amazing place to be too, but I'd save it for grad school. Too many people from Cali IMO (well >90%)
