<p>Just curious: Is anyone taking any of the animation courses offered at Brown? How is the computer science program in general?</p>
<p>We have one of the best undergraduate computer science program anywhere. While we have significant graphics programming (see Andy Van Dam, motion capture lab, etc) the focus is not on the artistic side of graphics work. We only offer two explicit animations courses as far as I know and have one faculty member who does animation work. That being said, RISD has some great animation courses and they are available to Brown students. We even recently had an independent concentrator in animation.</p>
<p>Thanks for the info. We met the instructor who teaches the animation courses and she was wonderful. Glad to hear that the CS program is a strong one. We spoke to one of the department heads when we visited in July and he said that Brown was doing some interesting things in terms of research. My fingers are crossed for an April acceptance letter!</p>
