Bryn Mawr Kitchens

Are there any kitchens at BMC? I can’t seem to find any information on the website or other ones about it. They all talk about the wonderful food, but what if you feel like cooking for yourself once in a while?

There are three places to cook on campus: the SGA kitchen, Perry (the black cultural center) and Batten (an environmental co-op). The SGA kitchen is available to the entire student body by reservation. The kitchens in Perry and Batten are mainly for the residents there, but you can also use them if you make friends in the house :)

Every dorm has what they call a “tea pantry” (at least one) where there is a big refrigerator, a microwave, and cabinets. So you can take a study break and microwave yourself up some soup or popcorn, and keep your strawberries in the fridge. (No microwaves or hotplates are allowed in dorm rooms, but you can have your own small fridge, lots of people do.)

With the honor code, no one really touches your stuff in the fridge, so no worries.

If you want to go all out and have a cookie-making party (need an oven), then you have to reserve the SGA kitchen up on Cambrian Row.

To find out about the tea pantries, look at dorm tours or go to [Residential Life | Bryn Mawr College](Residential Life | Bryn Mawr College) and click on “dorm floorplans.” For instance, look at Merion first floor… the unlabelled room next to 114 is the tea pantry. Often there’s one on every floor. So nice!
