Bryn Mawr RD Class of 2020!

Waitlist. Rejected from Grinnell, St.Olaf, University of Richmond and waitlisted by Chicago. I feel very down and bad about myself.

Please don’t. I know how hard this is, but there are so many ways to get from point a to b. I started out at a community college, and went on to earn both a law degree and a masters, and have a really wonderful career. I never could have gotten into a decent school out of high school for a number of reasons. You will get into the right school for you, and there is always community college and reapplying in a year, which is what I did. Don’t get sucked into all the hype, its not what it seems and in a year or two this will not seem so important - I promise.

@T2016M please don’t feel bad about yourself! I applied to several colleges before my gap year and, believe it or not, I ended up being rejected by all of the schools you’ve listed, PLUS UChicago and Bryn Mawr. I reapplied after a wonderful gap year, and Bryn Mawr, my dream school, accepted me. I couldn’t be happier, and honestly, I don’t regret anything. Really hope everything works out well for you!!!

Thank you guys I really appreciate your kind words, wishing everyone luck!! @LoreleiM @Collegemom2016

Accepted! :slight_smile: Yay!!!

There you go. Just remove the spaces :slight_smile:

Package came today, got a travel scholarship to go to down to Bryn Mawr in Focus :O.
Just leaving this extra info for whoever decides to read the thread for next years admissions process…

The package presentation overall is really nice! There’s COA information, a small personalized postcard from the assistant director of admissions, Q&A page, visiting information, financial handbook, and meeting financial aide.

@Ngzk07 I got that too!

Does anyone know the actual Bryn Mawr in Focus schedule? As in, do we get there on the 14th/18th and stay the night to the 15th/19th, or is it that we get there and stay the night 13-14th and 17-18th?

@wonderlanddd On the registration form it says students can only have one night stay. https://www.brynmawr.edu/welcome/focus-registration

@Ngzk07 Oh yeah, I know that. But you have the option between the 14th and the 18th, and I’m wondering if the overnight /starts/ on those dates and goes to the next day, or ends on them.

My original post should’ve said “13-14th /or/ 17-18th,” sorry.

@Ngzk07 are you talking about the 500 dollar reimbursement or like a full fly in? Cause my god the plane tickets are super expensive and if there is a full fly in program available then yeah I wanna ask them about it lol

@peachykeen629 A full fly in xD.

@Ngzk07 yay! That’s awesome! Also do you think I should contact the admission officers or the financial aid officers about the fly in?

As we read it, you can schedule your overnight on either end of the program. We’re looking at having her do a Sunday night (April 17) overnight heading into the program on Monday, April 18.

@peachykeen629 I would contact the admissions officers

@Ngzk07 where do you live? were you offered scholarships? i live in asia so my packet hasnt arrived yet but i really really hope i can fly to visit :frowning:

@kolakoala I’m a domestic student living in Maine. I’ve only received the travel scholarship (its on a yellow sticky note).

Hello, did anyone on the waitlist get a confirmation email after contacting the admissions office about accepting your spot?

@T2016M yes I did!
