Bryn Mawr RD Class of 2020!

@monkeylol BMC is test optional (I believe), so there’s no upshot in sending a 24.

Unweighted GPA is a tricky measure without knowing how rigorous your classes were. Bottom line, just charge ahead and put together the best application you can. Good luck!

Do you know of anyone with a 3.6 gpa that didn’t submit their Act score and got in?

Also, does Bryn Mawr have an honors college?

Bryn Mawr is an honors college.

@monkeylol Hey I am an incoming freshman! I have the same scores/Gpa as you, however, I did A LOT of extracurriculars.

@FloridianMawrter Wow, thank you! That makes me feel a little better about my chances. Did you end up sending your ACT score anyway? Also, what should one do to show that they have lot of interest towards Bryn Mawr? I live pretty far away from there, but really I wish attend Bryn Mawr. How did you show your interest towards the college?

@monkeylol I did not send in my scores and I don’t recommend you do it either. I think your past experiences in clubs/internships/awards does speak for itself but also applying that to the clubs that they have there. Also don’t be afraid to be creative with your essay! I took a huge risk and it definitely paid off. Your distance from Bryn Mawr won’t hurt nor help you - look at the international student percentage!

@Ngzk07 and @amanda9077 and any others who got in with a travel scholarship: Have you been reimbursed by the school yet for your travel expenses? We have been waiting almost three months now for the reimbursement to arrive. Every time I call the school I am told “it’s coming … wait another week.” Just wondering if this is par for the course.

for anyone who was accepted. i am quite confused on how you know you revived merit aid. i understand that the results are being released online, but does that mention the award of any aid as well?

@editrix1 How do you receive the travel scholarship? Are there certain requirements?

@monkeylol, the travel scholarship was offered to my daughter with her admission package. It appeared in the most low-tech way possible: on a Post-It attached to her “Welcome to Bryn Mawr” folder. It’s not something you can apply for; they just decide whether or not they want to offer it to you. Sort of like merit aid. I have no idea what the criteria were for receiving it, but we were very happy to accept it. The reimbursement did finally arrive, by the way.
