Which schools do you think i may have a chance in and what can i do better my chances. Also do you think my school name will be looked into for consideration because it is a specialized hs?

As for your GPA, the scale doesn’t matter. It’s all about how you compare to your classmates, In your school, is this GPA considered 10%, or within your major? I’m going to assume so when chancing you.

First of all, I’m a senior who just finished the admission process, so I’m no expert. I am just judging based on the results of my classmates and myself.

Now I’ll go over each section. Your SAT score is ok. The math section is pretty strong. Your ECs are average. There’s nothing for all four years, no president, and no big awards. Your strength would be your GPA and the rigorous classes you took.

For now, your ECs and grades are basically set, so the only thing you can do to increase your chances is raising your SAT scores. At this point, Cornell is pretty much out of reach. If you improve the score by 200 points, Cornell will become a reach. But even if you get 2400, it’s still a reach because other aspects of your profile are average. William and Mary, George Washington, Fordham and BU are low reaches at this point. Stony brook, Baruch, and hunters are matches. If you get 2100+ on the SAT, the former group becomes matches and the latter becomes safeties. Sorry I dont know anything about Baylor. For the liberal arts colleges you mentioned, it depends. They might think you are not well-rounded enough. But they might also think that they need someone focused on the sciences, which works in your favor. But I would say for now, they are high reaches. And the admission to those small colleges can be quite random since they really like to admit a certain type of student.

You should focus on raising your sat scores for now. During the summer, you should really put effort into the college essays as well. Those can increase your chances, especially for these LACs, BU and George Washington.

I wish you the best of luck during the admission process  I just gone through that and know how stressful it can be. Keep in mind that admissions to selective colleges are pretty random these days. Just do your best and leave no regrets

@prayforthebest Thank you so much for taking out the time to reply an give your honest opinion. I’ll be applying soon so I assume you understand how stressed out I am at the moment lol

@eh1124 yeah don’t stress too much. Totally unnecessary. It won’t help anything . Good luck!!
