Hey guys, I was just reading this thread

regarding attending business school and being a pre-med. I have decided to major in economics and I am blessed enough that my school offers a BA through their Arts and Science school and a BS through their B school. I know that one's major does not matter, but the above mentioned thread brings up the topic of adcoms being weary of applicants who received a business degree and then applying for medical school. Would this apply even to a Econ b school grad? The BS in Economics requires more of a mathematical foundation and some additional business classes compared the BA. The adviser told me that the BA is more the theory of economics whereas the BS is more of the practice of economics.

I'd be more interested in the BS despite that it requires more time but I am afraid of adcoms "turning their noses up" at a b school degree as described in the above thread. I know that economics majors go on to medical school on a regular basis but I'm just not sure of the logistics of BS vs a BA when med school is the goal. Should I just save myself the trouble and do the BA (less lower level coursework = get done sooner) since I'll have to do all the math for my pre-med prereqs anyways? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
