I am looking into CS at UT Austin, and they offer both a BS and BSA degree.
The BSA looks to be less technical focused and more humanities focused. It also requires a minor or certificate.
Will a BSA degree look bad on a resume or will it hurt future job prospects due to it seeming to be a copout computer science degree. I enjoy all it has to offer and it will make room for a cyber security certificate, but I don’t want an ‘inferior’ CS degree.
No, no employer will care in the slightest.
Assuming that you are familiar with the differences:

The BS, BA, and BSA degrees have 6 required CS courses, but they have 8, 6, and 4 elective CS courses respectively. How you select your elective CS courses can matter in terms of which types of jobs you would be best prepared for at graduation. You could, of course, do the BSA degree but take more than 4 elective CS courses.
If you intend to take the patent exam after completing a CS degree, be sure to check how many non-CS science courses or credits you need to include as prerequisites to the patent exam.
