hey I’m new. I’ve been silently reading since Thursday but I needed to ask… what is the message for differed vs rejected I’m not sure what my message means

deffered* my bad

deferred doesn’t mean rejection. they will review ur application again and could still accept u

all of it

okay that’s what mine says

if you got deferred, can you apply for ED2?

No, you will be considered for the RD round.

Yayyy cas 25 congrats everyone

Yayyyy!!!

Does anyone know the acceptance rate for deferred ED1 applicants? I feel like everyone got deferred or accepted.

so it seems like the financial aid leak was accurate?

I forgot the exact number but a good chunk get accepted. They usually don’t reject and just accept or defer. But ED1 has a higher acceptance than ED2.

So if I was deferred ED1 to the RD pool, I’m most likely to get rejected?

Does anyone know the acceptance rate of people getting deferred from ED 1? I want to know my chances of getting in now since I have been deferred

Not exactly, your chances do decrease but it doesn’t mean you’ll get rejected. They may be waiting to see your next semester/quarter grades. You still have a shot because of the demonstrated interest in ED1.

the financial aid leak was not accurate, mine didn’t show up during the glitch but i was accepted

No. You have better chances than a typical RD applicant (as mentioned yesterday) since the fact you did ED conveys your seriousness about joining BU. I think the acceptance rate from ED ( 1&2 combined) is ~ 30%. For RD it is ~ 20%. So I would imagine for the ED1 applicants who got deferred it may be around ~ 25% or even more.

However you may now want to explore the possibility of applying ED2 to some other school, perhaps one that is even more competitive than BU? Or still want to wait and see what BU decides in RD?

Whatever may be the decision, keep them updated of your mid term grades, any positive developments or achievements.

Same for my daughter.
