i never really heard of southern methodist, but i'd say you're guaranteed for purdue and a slight match for BU. just go for it. what have you got to lose (except some time and money).

oh i am applying to bu. i have started on my essays (going to finish them up this weekend). my cousin said that i should contact the alumni department, get a name from an alumni in the area, and talk to him about getting a reference. she said that thats is how a lot of students get into the chiropractic college she works at.

Purdue - Good match
SMU - Match (hope you can afford it lol)
Boston - Slight reach

Have you thought about taking the SAT again, or trying your hand at the ACT? If you have to submit one of these, average scores probably won't look very good for Boston and SMU in particular.

It would be best to call them up to know for sure. The main thing that worries me about the SAT score is, because you took the new version, you must have taken the test fairly recently. Whereas had you taken it two or even three years ago, it would probably not make much impact.

i know. i took the new test the first time it was offered and did not do any preperation. i am going to call bu and smu tomorrow and figure out what to do. the deadline to register is tomorrow :(.
