Watch hockey live.

Until you like hockey, it sucks to watch on TV.

Live hockey however is AWESOME. But I am from Michigan, and well, we like hockey.

Although somewhat overshadowed by football and basketball, USC baseball is very very good with 12 national titles (no other team has more than 6). The 2007 recruiting class was rated 4th.

I would still prefer the RedSox though. :p

Plus Mark Prior went there(only thing I know about USC baseball).

How much money are they offering you (if any)? I hear that BU has less bang for your buck, if you're paying full price.

Also, do visit; LA can be something of a shock if you aren't used to the area. Still, regardless, I would say that USC is the better choice.

Coming from Massachussetts, i would say USC is the better choice. The thing with Boston University is that, good as it is, it looses a lot of prospective students to surrounding schools. BU is really only the 5th best school in Boston (Harvard, MIT, BC, Tufts) so the best students looking to go to school in Boston choose elsewhere, and that definatly shows in its student body. Also, people may not like this question, but do you really want to go to a school that can be labelled "safety" by 4 schools close to it? if not thats fine, but some people would care. USC on the other hand is one of 2 really good schools in LA (UCLA being the other, i believe thats it) and has a much more active alumni base.

Boston kicks the pants off of LA, but USC provides you with much better opportunities than BU.

I'm really going to try to visit LA. I've heard from a couple people that Boston is better than LA, but who knows.

I don't consider BU a safety, but Harvard and MIT I don't really count because those are reaches. I don't know why I didn't apply to BC. I didn't even go see it, and after seeing it in November I would've had plenty of time to apply. Oh well.

BU is giving me like 23,000 for my first year. I really like my package from there. USC hasn't sent me anything yet.

I could try to go to a hockey game, since they even give away Blackhawks tickets.

USC has had some good baseball teams. Mark Prior is one of my favorite players(even though now he is not even close to what he was at USC), and I also like the idea of watching baseball at my own school. But the Red Sox are in Boston!

This is why I think I really need to visit LA. It's so tough for me to chose like this, but if USC gives me like no financial aid help then I will go to BU probably.

Due to money issues I couldn't make it to LA.

I would like to see what more people comment about LA. I hear it's really spread out, and I won't have a car. I've heard public transportation is bad, but I don't know how bad. While I have an extremely tough time going to the beach on a day I just want to go out and relax? Do USC students leave campus a lot or generally stay on-campus?

What about grades at both schools? Which school is tougher in grading? If I go to med school I need good grades, and while both are tough I don't know about grade deflation and things like that.

I was leaning towards USC, and now I'm leaning towards Boston because I love it there, and it seems more college student oriented.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated! :)

Most USC students stay on campus, and for me, this is a positive because it creates a more vibrant atmosphere.

There has been some noise about grade deflation at BU, while at USC the grading is somewhere in the middle (no rampant grade deflation nor grade inflation). I too got admitted to both of these schools and I chose USC.

Hi! So apparently I can’t form a thread so the most I can do is reply to this one. I’ve narrowed down my college choices to BU and UCLA but I can’t seem to lean towards one or the other. BU has the 7-year med program and a GREAT financial aid package - practically a full ride. And if I decline the accelerated program and just go to BU, I can still get the financial aid, and if I change my mind later on, apply for med school early. However, I live in Southern California and absolutely detest cold temperatures (the sun is my best friend!). I want to be far enough from home that my parents can’t visit (and UCLA is only 40 minutes away), BUT, if I go to BU I will be completely and utterly alone because all my friends and family live in Cali. I think BU will give me a new perspective, but the thought of never being able to come home (cuz most likely, I would only be able to come home during Summer Break because of financial status) when I want to scares me.

I’d say USC simply because I love that place, but BU is great for pre-med. And if you’re an obsessed baseball fan, all I can tell you is that my friend who is a BU freshman is living in Kenmore Square. Like, Fenway is legitimately in her backyard. It’s amazing. Boston is a really great place to spend your college years, and it’s the best sports town in America!

This is an old thread.

I went to USC for a conference and i wish i had gone there for undergrad.
