I haven’t received anything either. Just checked the mail today and there’s no word yet. I’m hoping it’s just a result of the holiday delaying things.

Just checked my mail today…still nothing yet…I agree…hopefully it is the holiday.

still nothing for me either. Been checking my mail and email… but I’m still doubting receiving it cause of my change in major. :/

Got it yesterday, though I’m not home to receive it.

Just got my confirmation today!

No it was an e-mail saying I wasn’t selected to receive the award but it was back in May

Sent from my HTC Evo using CC App

I received my confirmation in the mail today for the $ 2000 scholarship! I live in new york, if that makes a difference. To those of you who are still waiting: don’t lose hope! Best of luck to you all:)

I live in Michigan and I received my confirmation letter about 3 days ago. I received the whole $25,000

I got my letter today for the $2000 scholarship! (I’m in Michigan too)

Okay, more thoughts/questions.

Those of you who received the full 25,000, did you have an amount written in on your original application of scholarships/grants already received? I did. While I am now a National recipient (not the previously reported 2,000 provisional I posted back in May), I was not awarded the full 25,000.

My understanding is that amount is based on what you have already received in scholarships at the time of application, per what you put on there, and also the cost of the school. SO, if I had put a more expensive school, the amount would go up to the 25,000 /or/ if I had less scholarship money than I reported. Right?

The reason I am asking is, some of the scholarship money that I reported is going to come in for just the first year but then it will not be there the following year. Won’t the Buick fill back in to the “up to 25,000” amount if necessary?

I’m still just feeling OVERLY grateful on many levels. I learned about this scholarship from an email Coca-Cola sent. I was a semi-finalist for the Coca-Cola and when they sent the final announcement (“we’re sorry”), they sent an snail mail letter to me and to my school /and/ they sent an email. It was in the email they suggested I might look at the Buick.

Am I correct that we are the inaugural recipients? I know they have given a lot to education and scholarships in the past, but is the Buick brand new?

I’d STILL love to hear more about the first five who received the Buick Achievers National Scholarship award back in April and about their trip. I’ve found a few news articles online.

I hadn’t received any scholarships at the time, so I don’t think I wrote anything. I turned this application on the day it was due and said, “how awesome would it be if I won this.” Haha, like that’ll happen.

Anyone else who received the National scholarship feel like this is a dream and you might wake up? Today when the communication came out about possible national media publicity, I felt like I was reading something someone else needed to know, not me. So grateful. So unreal. About to go crawl back under a rock…

Has anyone received their scholarship check yet for Nationl Buick Achievers Scholarship?

I have not yet received a check. My university is holding my books and I’m not able to have a computer and calculator in time for classes to begin. The letter said they’d be mailed on the 15th, so I’m hopeful it will come quickly. I’m in school out of state so will have to somehow get the check ASAP to satisfy my bursar. STILL - just SO VERY GRATEFUL.

Still not exactly sure what the amount of the scholarship check will be…guess I will just have to wait and see. Does anyone else know for sure how much their check will be?

I am assuming HALF of what they told me they’d awarded. Hmm…

I still have not received my check. My dad is getting worried because he has to pay my school bill soon!

: ( My university did at least APPLY it to the account so I could get my books. UNFORTUNATELY, it looks like they are taking away my NEED BASED funds, which showed as scholarships on my original award letter though they were really grants. Though I’m covered this year, the reduced award amount from Buick because of my awards at the time I applied for their scholarship, I will be several thousand SHORT in the following years. Do you read the Buick award letter that way? I did not receive the full 25,000 since I told them what I had, but I had several additional scholarships that were ONE TIME awards (this year) and those will go away as well.

Still waiting for the check as well…and am growing concerned! I’m not sure exactly what the amount will be due to the same issue with having received other scholarships…I hope they reconsider or recalculate it yearly, which would help with those one time/freshman year only awards.

I’m thinking they could not have mailed out the checks as stated on the 15th…it would have been here by now, for sure.

I tried calling them. I guess the person isn’t available right now. What if our money got lost in the mail or they forgot I’m freaking out and I need it noowwwwww.
