Business Calc equivalency to Calc 1

Hey all,

Originally, my major was business, so I took business calc and passed with high marks. I have recently switched my major to computer science, and I know Calc 1 is a requirement for that. Does FSU accept business calc in place for calc 1? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Calculus II (MAC2312) is also required and the prerequisites for that are:

PREREQUISITES: You must have passed MAC 2311 (Calculus I) with a grade of C- or better or have satisfactorily completed at least four hours of equivalent calculus courses.

I just checked and Business Calculus is not four hours. Also I’m not sure how much of the important Calculus I topics are covered. You should probably ask your advisor.

I don’t think business calculus is an equivalent for calculus I.

No, calc 1 and business calc are not similar. In Calc 1 you study analytic geometry which you don’t in business calc.

Well that stinks for me I guess. Looks like I’ll be taking calc 1… Thanks though guys!
