business fraternity?

Has anyone on here been in a business fraternity such as akpsi or delta sigma pi who can give some information in the rush and pledge process?

You go to rush events and try to get the Brothers to like you. Then if you get a bid you go through 8 weeks of pledgeship. They say it’s equivalent to an additional 3 credit course. I’d say that’s probably right if you put in minimal effort. What do you wanna know?

How different is the pledge process from a social fraternity as well as how much work is there during pledgeship, because I have heard that pledges end up spending more time doing pledge work than actual class work.

There are a number of business fraternities on campus besides the ones you listed. I believe they all have male and female members, and they definitely are not the equivalent of a 3 credit course. (Traditional fraternities are that way, and some are a lot more work than 3 credits… depends on the house). The requirements depend on the business fraternity you apply to. Generally it’s participation.

Sticking to the three main business fraternities in Kelley, pledgeship is certainly a 3 credit hour course at a minimum. Probably will require more work. Once you’re in the time commitment can vary greatly based on how much you want to contribute, but that’s the same with social fraternities.
