Business knowledge for a JD

Guys-

I am going to law school next year, and I did not get into the MBA program for the dual degree (just finished college, no chance for admission to MBA program). As a liberal arts major I have ZERO business acumen. After law school I would be interested in correcting this, but I am not sure that a full fledged 2 year MBA program is necessary....Instead I was interested in maybe just taking individual classes that I thought would help me in the legal profession. Obviously Managerial and Financial Accounting (basic level acctg) would be a must, but what finance/econ/stat/calculus/other accounting courses would people recommend that I take if I choose to go this route?

----but I am interested in any 1 year MBA programs anyone could recommend...

Work experience is far more important than any classes when it comes to getting admitted to, or doing well in, an MBA program. Statistics might be helpful if you’ve never taken it.

IMO, the only 1-year MBA programs in the U.S. worth doing are at Kellogg and Cornell, but you will have a tough time getting admitted to the 1-year programs because you don’t have a quantitative or business background. If you’re serious about doing a 1-year MBA, you might actually want to look at LBS, Insead, Cambridge, and Oxford (after a few years of work experience).

Edited to add - if you try to take business classes for the sake of learning how to do business, I think you will be disappointed. An MBA is for socializing and adding a resume line that gets you a high paying job, it’s not really for learning anything of importance.
