i have been doing some research under the umbrella of business majors available and so far i have narrowed it down to either finance or accounting. When i am in a business school at college, will i be studying both or will i have to choose one of the two? also, any opinions on which is better or more "liked" by the people studying in that feild? any opinions are much appreciated :)

Usually, you take at least a class or two of both in any business program. However, it is not uncommon that you would only be able to major in one or the other, though you would likely still have the option to minor in the other one if that is the case.

The top jobs in accounting tend to be slightly less competitive and don’t overwork you quite as much, but they pay a little less as well as the top jobs in finance. The whole mentality associated with each major is that accounting is the sure bet for steady employment and finance is a higher risk and higher reward field. That said, top jobs are only relevant if you’re going to one of the handful of top-ranked programs for your major, and both majors normally end up being hired for a lot of the same positions.

You should do some research on the two fields and see which one you’re more interested in. Something as simple as a wikipedia search can give you a place to start. It really doesn’t matter what other people like, because your major should reflect your goals and interests.

I’d recommend accounting with a concentration in finance, unless you really really want a top finance orientated position. If that’s the case then I’d recommend vice versa.
