I just recently finished undergrad (business-esque program at Northwestern) and was hoping to eventually get a higher degree in a field more specific to my interest, which is being on the business side of the entertainment industry.

First, I was wondering if an MBA is likely going to be my best/only option. I know MBA students are usually 5-ish years out of school, and I was hoping to do a program rather soon, so if anyone knows of regular masters programs or other areas of graduate study that might fit the bill for this line of work, I'd love to know!

But, if an MBA is the way I'm going to have to go, does anyone have any program recommendations such as the USC program above? And is it completely unrealistic to consider going to business school with only 2-3 years work experience after undergrad, plus internships? (No GMAT yet but I had a 3.95 at NU so I'm pretty confident in the academic site of my potential application.)

This post is all over the place...but any and all help/advice is much appreciated.

UCLA-Anderson and USC-Marshall (in that order) are considered the two strongest MBA program for entertainment.
However, with that said, you don’t need an MBA to work/lead in the entertainment business. CEO of NBC only has a bachelors.
If you want an MBA from those two schools, it’ll be better to get some work experience under your belt.

That’s interesting. I’m sure an entertainment law degree would be useful in the areas I’m thinking about pursuing. Just not sure if that’s what I want to study. I’d imagine law school is pretty intense and would be hard to get through without a real passion for it.

You’ve given me some new stuff to think about though, so I really appreciate the help! If anyone else has specific program recs or alternative path ideas please keep them coming. I posted specifically on the USC boards and Grad School boards but haven’t had much success with either.
