Buying a laptop for engineering? Make sure to get recommended autoCAD graphics

As technology is rapidly speeding up it is important your hardware doesn't lag behind! For many engineering students you will be using autoDESK software often. With so many graphic cards available it is important to get one that will run optimally.

I would suggest you verify that the laptop you are buying will run optimally with autoDESK software.

Use the following link to your graphics hardware for compatibility.

Autodesk - Certified Hardware

Cheers! Best of luck in your engineering endeavors!

I don’t have any friends or colleagues who learned Autodesk in engineering school recently. By and large it seems to be either SolidWorks or Pro/ENGINEER (or whatever it is called now).

Second, I’d suggest that if you go the laptop route, plan to use the on-campus computers for CAD work an any beefy computations and focus your laptop on portability. If you end up getting a personal desktop, THEN aim for raw power.
