<p>I'm surprised that so many of you have 8-period days. Is that the norm for most high schoolers? How long is each period?</p>

<p>portmanteau: Well in my school, we have a rotating block schedule.
i.e. 4 Day = 4, 1, 2, lunch, 8, 5, 6
Our school is crazy with 4 different schedule days and the EVERYONE (1600 students) eats lunch at the same time. However, each period is just about an hour long and we get to miss 2 classes each day.</p>

<p>only one hour long???? ours is 80 minutes!!!! It's like torture after 50 minutes</p>

<p>Sr yr I don't get my schedule till the day i start(september 6) but heres my classes each grade has a set of classes appointed to them no choices and no honors/AP's but there's only 14 of us in a grade
Gov't/Economics(1 semester each forgot which semester comes first)
English 12(w/ a new teacher i have had a different English teacher every yr of hs including during the last 2 yrs in which i went to a school where u have teachers that have been teaching for yr's + teachers that teach 9-12/7+8)
either Sequential Math 3/a math that teaches u about life like taxes job's salary's(i qualify for Sequential Math{higher grades in math} 3 but we might all be put in there anyway unless the new history teacher doesn't mind teaching the special math class)
Computers(gahh our teacher sux)
Environmental Science(w/ my teacher of 3 yrs i love her..I'm getting her and my Math teacher to do Recc's b/c not only have i had them fairly long but we've had a good relationship...)

I have 7th off and 8th is clubs i can do clubs but i don't have too..but I do..plus i don't have a ride home..
and i go to private school 15 minutes from my house but most days unless its a Tuesday my mom can drive me home</p>

<p>^^ your schedule is almost identical as my freshman schedule, except for the French part. I did not take any class for one period (I had one full hour study hall)</p>
