The scenario is: a parent attended a national University for a year, left, continued on to various community colleges (about 4 I think - due to relocating) before obtaining a two year Associates degree at the 4th CC.
Should the applicant put down all 5 of these for the parent in question on the Common App? Apparently he just put that his mother attended the last cc where she actually received the degree.
I would just put the last college and degree.
Ok, I told him I’m sure it’s fine - I did looked at the question again last night on CA and it asks to list all unis “attended”.
I forgot to point out that one of the schools he’s applying to is where his mother went (different name now) but not sure if that would come up… Thoughts on that? @skieurope and @Erin’s Dad
I think he wants to go to his in state anyway not being sure of what to major in, so probably not really an issue.
Here’s a hard copy of the Common App. https://collegeguidance.files.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/2015/08/2015-common-application_training.pdf
It says College Attended (if any), Degree, Year. There is also only one slot for undergrad. That’s what I based my answer on.
He should apply to at least one in-state school unless he knows he can afford OOS.
