Hi, I'm a senior looking to apply at UW this fall. I've meet all the requirements except math; I have Geometry, Algebra I, Algebra II. I'm struggling with pre-calc this year and was thinking about dropping it in place of Algebra for finance or physics...? Any recommendations? I just don't want dropping pre-calc to hurt my chances too badly. Right now I'm at a 3.94 unweighted GPA and 4.1 something weighted, ACT 27 (planning to retake), three years of varsity volleyball, and lots of community service. I'm planning on graduating at semester and spending 5 months abroad as well.

UW only requires three years of HS math for admission. Geom, Alg I, Alg II should be fine.

It would be better if you did take Pre-Calculus. They would love to see that you’re taking four years of the major core classes (math, English, social studies, and science).

I mean you’re at 3.94 unweighted, which is pretty good! The average for UW students is around 3.7 unweighted. I doubt you can get all the way to a D in precalculus. Hopefully your GPA isn’t coming from easy classes (hopefully you’re taking AP and honors core classes).
