On Bear Facts It says that I have accepted what I want but the section for a Cal Grant has nothing. When accepting or declining it did not include the cal grant offer. So how do I accept my Cal Grant? Also I hear that the finance office randomly audits students and ask for copies of the tax returns for financial aid. Has anybody been audited or when do they begin?

wait until august 15th, then worry

Oh crud, I have already accepted some loans, scholarships, and grants from Bearfacts. Only a couple of weeks later I got my parents tax returns and our actual income was $50,000, higher than what i put on my FAFSA (~$44,000). What do you guys think I should do? Correct my FAFSA, even after accepting money or sweat it out and hope that even if audited that my income increase doesnt matter much?

It will affect your aid if they audit. Wait until then.

They will happily apply financial changes to your account retroactively. If you are offered less money because of your FAFSA corrections but they've already disbursed the original amount, they have no qualms charging back the difference.

I have been audited. I was audited at the beginning of May. I had my documents in within 3 days. They STILL say I'm missing something (which means they haven't even processed what I turned in yet).

In my experience, Cal Grants are distributed kind of late. I could never figure out why, but after I talked to the person in charge of Cal Grants at the FAO, I figure it's just because they somehow don't get enough and they have to carefully calibrate what money goes where.

I got a Cal Grant adjustment in March, retroactive for the entire 2007-2008 school year. Hooray for Financial Aid.
