I recently got accepted in to Cal Poly SLO for fall 2015 as a freshman. However, I was looking at my dorm options, and I can’t decide on if I would want to live in the Red Bricks or in Yosemite! My major is Animal Science, pre-vet. I’m not really much of a partier and I wouldn’t mind being surrounded by people of the same college/major as me, so originally I thought Red Bricks would be a good choice…however, I like the idea of the different towers and the different themes they have every year, and Yosemite just seem really fun, being co-ed and all.
Can anyone tell me about their experiences in either Red Bricks or Yosemite, and how studious the two are? I just need someone else’s thoughts on them.
@kmwhms I would encourage you to join the FB 2019 CP Class page if you haven’t done so to get some input into your question. I’m sure there are a ton of posts regarding this very subject, and I understand this is monitored more by students than here on CC. Just a thought…
@kmwhms I lived in North Mountain my freshmen year, but from what I know I believe the red bricks would be the better option for you. They are more studious and are also co-ed and each floor is split into wings. One for males and one for females. I believe you would also benefit being in the red bricks as they are focused towards different majors/colleges. The main reason for not choosing Yosemite is because you mentioned not being big into parties.
