CAL POLY CONDITIONAL ADMISSION (History major) Class of 2020, conditionally exempt math req

Hey there, I checked the cal poly portal yesterday and it said I’d been conditionally admitted to CAL POLY and conditionally exempt from the math requirement because my math sat score was slightly low at a 520, I know that you can be completely exempt from the math requirement if you take certain math classes your senior year or you pass the entry level math test. This year I took trigonometry first semester and am currently taking statistics, I was wondering if the qualifies for complete exemption from the math requirement? Also is everyone technically “conditionally admitted” so you don’t become too lazy senior year?

All applicants are conditionally admitted and must adhere to the requirements on the provisional admission contract. Are you talking about the exemption of the ELM testing?

Here are the requirements for the exemption for ELM. If you have any questions, it is best to contact admissions directly.

You do not have to take the ELM if you present proof of one of the following:

A score of 550 or above on the mathematics section of the College Board® SAT® Reasoning Test
A score of 550 or above on a College Board SAT Subject Test in Mathematics (level 1 or level 2)
A score of 23 or above on the American College Testing (ACT®) Mathematics Test
A score of 3 or above on the College Board Advanced Placement® (AP®) Calculus AB or Calculus BC
A score of 3 or above on the College Board Advanced Placement Statistics examination
Completion and transfer to CSU of a college course that satisfies the requirement in Quantitative Reasoning, provided such a course was completed with a grade of C or better
A result of “Standard Exceeded: Ready for CSU or participating CCC college-level coursework in mathematics” on the CAASPP Early Assessment Program (EAP) exam

The following Conditionally Exempt statuses require students to continue their preparation in the 12th grade by taking an approved math course and earn a grade of “C” or better. Students that do not meet the conditional requirement will need to participate in the CSU’s Early Start Program, unless they meet other Early Start Program exemptions.
Early Start Program exemptions include the following test scores/results:
490–540 on the mathematics portion of the SAT Reasoning Test
20–22 on the mathematics portion of the ACT exam
A result of “Standard Met: Conditionally Ready for CSU or participating CCC college-level coursework in mathematics” on the CAASPP Early Assessment Program (EAP) exam

Son in! But he hit the “accept admission” button only to realize too late that it was not just an acknowledgement! Is it really binding? He has other schools to hear from yet. UCs and two privates. What to do? Should he just let it ride until he finds out about the other schools or must he contact CalPoly admissions and let them know he’s not ready to decide? I guess excitement, and the ridiculously tiny print/text box got the better of him
