On my student portal, it still says “Ready for Decision”. I’m being required to take the ELM placement test. At first I thought that this test only had to be taken by those who have already been admitted. Does this test affect my chances of being admitted??
CPP sends it to all applicants that have not met the ELM requirement regardless if you are admitted or not since you will have to take it for any CSU you plan to attend.
It does not affect your chances for being admitted, but you still need to take it if not exempt.
So even if I do pass this test, I could still be rejected from the school? I only received this from Cal Poly Pomona and not any of the other schools I applied to.
If you do not meet the exemption/cutoff at CPP, you do not meet it for any CSU’s. Even if you are rejected from CPP but plan to enroll in another CSU, you will need to take the ELM. Are you local? If you are local, CPP may be the closest school in which to take the ELM.
So i got an email last night about the test from cpp and I was exempted from English and conditional status for math. Does this mean I got in? I’m still on “ready for decision,” and the email said if I plan on attending cal poly pomona I would need to fill out the conditional status form.
@happinessiskey: It only means that you applied and you have met the ELM and EPT requirements. Until you get an official decision from CPP, you can get determine anything from this email.
Is ELM and EPT applicable to transfer students?
