Hi I’m a high school senior going to Cal Poly Slo for Biomedical Engineering. Ive heard that engineering at SLO is difficult to graduate in 4 years, but its doable. But Im not sure if I want to do Biomed or Aerospace engineering. I know that if i switched I would have to wait a quarter to do so, and I was curious if i would still be able to graduate in 4 years. If it helps I’ll have passed 12 ap tests: Microecon, Macroecon, Chem, Calc AB, Calc BC, Bio, Physics 1, Psych, US history, European History, English Language and Comp, and Environmental Science. And I’ve taken and passed multivariable calc and intro to differential equations through a dual enrollment program with CSUSM and english 101 and 103 with a community college in my city.
Hello ‘jtrain5976’; having your first-year calc. and physics out of the way will help as they are requisites for all engineering majors: maybe you can take a physics class over the summer? Then, if you have room in your schedule this Fall/Winter/Spring you could try the Aero. classes to see if you like it. Also, ask if aero. classes will be held in the summer at Cal Poly…?
