<p>so I'm deciding between attending cal poly slo or going to SBCC then transfer to UCSB. I've been to cal poly slo and I just felt like there wasnt much around it. like if i didnt it like it there I was kind of stuck. Can anyone tell me pros and cons of both schools. activities, places to go, etc.</p>
<p>I think you’d get better results posting this question in the Cal Poly SLO thread. That being said, I’ve heard nothing but positive feed back from kids who attend Cal Poly SLO. San Luis Obispo is a great college town and the campus is very social. You may also want to go on College ******* and read the reviews by the students attending Cal Poly SLO.</p>
<p>Also, I’m told you need to be really good at keeping your education as your #1 priority if you attend SBCC as the crazy parties in the streets of Isla Vista occur 7 nights a week. I have many friends who sent their kids to SBCC with the intention of transferring to UCSB and they ended up with poor grades and are now back living at home.</p>
<p>I agree with SoCalMom about the partying. Out of 15 kids I know that went to SBCC, only 1 of them was academically eligible to transfer to UCSB and did. The rest dropped out and moved home, and a few stayed to continue the party…</p>

<p>are two good sites. On the 2nd site, try to disregard reviews by 1st semester freshmen, and any review that is not well written. It is an open site.</p>
<p>FWIW. my vote is with Cal Poly. All the people I’ve known who went there have really, really liked it.</p>
