@tum - nope. it’s a free event. it’s their spring open house, right? i remember signing up for it and they asked what grade you were in and the choices were 9th - alumni/graddy. so i think you can do even if you haven’t gotten your acceptance yet (:

There is 4 days left until the end of the admin decision period and I still have not received a decision yet from CSUF…
Anyone still waiting?

@kalvin126. I haven’t heard back either… What is your major?

If you haven’t gotten a letter yet, you should check the online portal. That’s how I knew I got in before I got a letter in the mail. They should be pretty much all done. I was accepted back in November, like a week after I applied.

@AnnabelxLee Im a transfer and I got an email. Im pretty sure its for all new students not just freshman.

I was accepted that quickly too. Did you get in with distinction?

O: I read somewhere that sometimes Fullerton sends acceptance letters til April 15th. Or am I wrong, was that something of that past? :/

I am majoring in Computer Science, and I have been checking the portal everyday. Still no decision yet.

ngarcia, I did get in with distinction! I wonder if that really means anything…

@Annabel Haha, im just going to pretend it does ;). I was under a lot of stress because they told me that I had to have over a 3.5 since I live outside of Orange County. Im just so excited to get out of the Central Valley… well if I pass my calculus class!

I wish I would have known a 3.5 was sufficient. I was told by several people it was 3.7 and even then it would be a stretch. So I got my 3.7 and go accepted a week after I applied. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t as bad as everyone was making it out to be. I’m still waiting on Long Beach though. I even got into Dominguez Hills like less than a week after I applied. I was laughing because it seems like the just automatically generated the letter for people who have higher GPAs. None of the “better” or more popular schools accepted anyone quite that fast. Except Fullerton, but I know it’s a really good school and its my 2nd pick and will be more than happy to go there if I don’t get into Long Beach.

channel Island is the same way. As soon as your submit your application you get an email saying you are accepted (a little exaggeration lol). So those CSU’s like channel Island and Dominguez don’t get much applicants.

But its shocking that the one CSU that gets the most applicants every year (SDSU) was rather fast at sending out notifications. They pretty much sent out all their acceptances and denials over a month ago and they received over 70,000 applications. Where as CSULB and CSUF is just taking their sweet time.

So they can’t use “We get so many applications, that it takes a while to notify everyone” as an excuse because SDSU notified everyone over a month ago.

Well, we know which CSUs are making good use of their resources unlike others.

Although like I said, I was accepted to Fullerton right away, back in November. So in my case they didn’t take their time. For CSULB, if you look at their enrollment figures for transfers from fall 2011, I’m in the top 75% for my major. I just feel like I should have gotten something a long time ago, but they haven’t sent anything out yet for psychology majors. I also applied for communicative disorders as my back up major and I have seen nothing in regards to that.

I live within the area of Fullerton and no decision.
And I also heard that Fullerton can still accept people till April 15 too…

By the way, if you’re on the waitlist, is it a better chance to get in?

Is your major of choice impacted?

I just found out today that if it is, then your area status means NOTHING.

If you are on the waitlist it means you are good enough to go there, buuuutttt you just missed the mark and are below everyone else. If someone declines their admission, then a spot opens up. So you can hope. Unless you are really high up on the waitlist, you probably wont get in. I’m not sure if they give you a number or not. But, its likely that they will only take the first 8-10% of the waitlist.

Keep checking the portal, you will likely find out a few days sooner that way.

its not like everyone who applies and gets accepted attends that school. So every CSU will be having a good % of student not enrolling.

So if you are on the waitlist and they said you will get in if someone rejects admission, then there will be hundreds of waitlist kids making it.

does anyone know when fullerton STOPS sending out admissions/acceptances? :O

CSUF admissions said they will be sending out admission notices/decisions until March 31. So lets hope they stick to their word.
I’m still waiting and I’m majoring in Computer Science…

I’ve been told multiple times by them that “they can accept you all the way up until the first day of classes”. I sincerely HOPE they make a decision soon, but I don’t have high hopes. I really need to find out one way or another soon because my current college is already dealing with housing and financial aid for next year. CSUF needs to pick up the pace.

@kalvin March 31 is on a weekend and i don’ believe they send stuff out on weekends because they are closed. Where did you learn they send it until March 31. That would be great news.

@Msjessicajules That’s what i’ve heard also. I think we might have to wait up until june-july

Still haven’t heard anything from them. Anyone else in the same boat?
