@homemadehitshow That great he’s got quite a few choices. From a CSU standpoint, San Jose State seems to rank highly among them, though I’m not sure specifically about Communications major. Congratulations to you and your kids on their other college acceptances! Best of luck
@CSUADTHopeful That’s cool that everything’s correct in the audit. Interestingly, I found some GE requirements as well. I thought that if you completed (signed off on) IGETC that no other GE would be required? As for the SD class, did you include that class in your application as an IP course?
We live in San Jose so he doesn’t want to go there He also likes Channel Islands, it has no reputation due to being new but it’s a great campus and the small classes and growing nature are quite appealing.
Ah, understandable. I’m from NorCal but live in Orange County now. Back in the day, Chico State was pretty much a party school. I didn’t want to go to a college like that, even though they had (have) a pretty good CS program. When I went to Sac State, my fraternity brothers would head up to Chico State, then come back with brain damage =P~ hahaha. But most colleges have similar cultures, nowadays. I’m sure Chico State must have changed some over the years. Have you visited all the campuses he’s been accepted to, yet?
@TooOld4College I did not include it in my application because I barely decided to attend in march this year. I remember sending them the transcript with “IP” on it though… I need to call and find out if they received it and if it’s a problem
CSUF just updated my Degree Audit, adding 9 units from my second transcript, giving me so far 48 transferred units at 3.8 GPA. Hopefully a good sign :-SS
@TooOld4College That’s great!! Maybe that means they are working on your app and will get back to you soon! Fingers crossed!
@TooOld4College He’s been to Monterey and Channel Islands. Chico next week. He has friends at Chico and they tell him, as a junior, it’s pretty easy to avoid the partying. However there is a housing crunch and he kind of wants to break out on his own with new friends. He really liked Channel Islands.
Where else are you looking?
@homemadehitshow I’ve also applied to Cal Poly, Pomona. My backup plan is to apply to CSU East Bay and Penn State for their online business administration programs, since they have a rolling deadline for online applicants. Online suits me (temporarily disabled), as it has been for most of my 40 units at Fullerton College.
In my prior life (hahaha), I attended Cal Poly, SLO (EE), Cal State Sacramento (Math/CS), and Cal State L.A. (CS), along with a slew of community colleges.
Sounds like Channel Islands may be the one. Looking back, it might have been better for me to attend a smaller sized university with less enrollment (less trouble and distractions… more focus on college).
@Starkiller talked to a guidance counseller today and they said without my general ed class hum101 i wont get my adt for business and wont have my gen ed completed. You think i still have a chance at getting accepted anywhere? Also is there any csu’s that have am application period in january or sometime other then september?
@gencheezzy stats? What community college do you go to? Did you apply to anywhere besides csuf?
Anyone else still waiting for their decision?
Also, I was unable to turn in my transcripts by the deadline (March 16th) since my CC didn’t send them for some reason. Good news is that they emailed me to tell me that if I didn’t turn them in by April 17th (Today) my app would get withdrawn. I went on friday personally to turn in my transcripts!
Does anyone know how long it is going to take for them to get back to me with my admission decision?
Also, isn’t the fact that they haven’t rejected me a good sign?
@bmora101 Whew… #:-S talk about in the nick of time! Good job getting it in, though. You’ve gotta make sure you follow through and get confirmations that transcripts have been sent. I dealt with sending my community college transcripts from one of my other colleges 3 times and they still declared they didn’t receive it. I went in personally and had them look through transcripts that somehow didn’t match up with students. They found all 3 of mine. It turns out that my name was slightly different from my other college. Killing me… ~X(
Yes, I’m still waiting for a decision as well. However, I just received an email from Cal Poly Pomona that I was waitlisted. CPP is on a slightly different schedule and I heard they were sending out decisions this week. I accepted, but CSUF is still my first choice. CSUF will be sending out decisions through end of May. With them receiving your transcripts just now, I hope it’s not til the end of May for you. Hopefully, they’ll respond to you quicker. Not receiving a denial at this point is always a good sign.
Best of luck to you! B-)
@bmora101 I applied to 8 cal states and CSUF is the only one I haven’t heard back from! I wouldn’t say it is good or bad, it probably means they haven’t evaluated your transcript yet since they receive so many applications.
@CSUADTHopeful Hmm, somehow the Titan Degree Audit (TDA) is magically broken. Can you get in?
ADMITTED!
