Cal vs. UCLA

instead of dedicating my time to internships over the year and summer, i want to dedicate some of my time to inter-city youth camps...i hope law school admissions people dont mind.
do you mind me asking why you chose pre-law and what steps you took after? thanks drab.

drab, do you mind me asking what year you are in?

Cal (on paper) is only better than UCLA because it's been around longer and is thus allegedly more "prestigious." But as for everything else, I truly do believe UCLA takes the cake.

Like Harvard and Yale, right? Same situation, and equally meaningless, right? I think if one were to make a list of subjects in which one school was better than the other, the list for Berkeley would be a lot longer than UCLA. This is to say that UCLA has some better programs.

I'm a first year and haven't taken any steps since thinking about law school. The subject matter sounds interesting, the lifestyle, and the community and people at smaller more friendly law schools like Boalt intrigue me. Law school interests me much more than being a lawyer in many situtions does. I think that your working with inner-city youths will look fine.
