I have to make my senior schedule soon and i was wondering which one should i take. I have pretty high grades in precal currently, but i cant decide is i want to do bc. help me!!!!

Well, which one do you want to take? AB covers maybe 1/2 to 2/3 of the material in BC. Do you want an easier senior year and look less impressive to colleges, or a tougher senior year with more material in it? Keep in mind you'll be applying to colleges and doing all sorts of stuff for scholarships. Which is work.

Also some colleges grant AP credit for BC and not AB.

take BC!!!

what is the difference between the two classes?

i thought that Calculus AB = Calculus 1, and Calculus BC = Calculus 2?

Calculus AB - Calc I
Calculus BC - Calc I and 2

What you learn in all of AB, you learn in the first semester of BC
Find out what the calc teachers are like and compare that to your schedule. If you find out the AB teacher is horrible and the BC teacher is really good (in my case), then go for BC. If both are about equal...look at your future schedule. If you will have an extremely heavy load and lots of EC's...just take AB because it is a little lighter. If not, or you think you can handle a little extra work, go for BC.

See what the colleges your looking at give credit for (any how much). It'll probably be harder to do BC w/o AB but not too hard. You just gotta learn the AB material everyone else spends the first half of the year relearning.

At my school, you don't take AB before BC, you choose one or the other.
