Calc AB Study Group

Overall, it was as difficult as previous tests. The non-calculator free response was difficult relative to prior years, but the MC was relatively easy. The first two calculator MC didn't even require a calculator (many more like this, but this is just an example). I left one MC blank. Expecting a four; hoping for a five (not that it matters with regard to college course exemption).

The released exams frequently had questions on the calculator section that did not require a calculator, and is a trend I would expect to see continue on AP exams for the foreseeable future.

MC: I thought it was suprisingly easy, i think i did good on it as long as i didnt make some dumb mistakes and calculate wrong

FRQ: hard. lol i thought both parts were hard. especially part b of the free response section.

i think i got a 3 at least, maybe a 4. I'll get credit for a 3 so im good.

the free response were horribly brutal, CRAZY HARD and

im so glad its DONE

I took AB and left 7 blank on the non calculator MC, and answered all of the calculator MC (which I thought were frighteningly easy). Free response was ehhh...I did bad on 1 and 3, but I'm feeling really confident with the non calculator FRQs, so I guess we'll just wait and see.

I feel like I most definitely got a 3, but I'm hoping for higher!

much harder FR than i expected and much different topics than what i really studied for.

oh well. if the whole nation does bad, we all do well, haha.

I thought that the exam was pretty easy. MC was definitely a breeze and FRQ tripped me up a bit. I know for sure that I got two parts of two different questions wrong, although I will get partial credit for sure.

I'm confident that I'll get at least a 4 seeing as that was the trend for my practice exams that I took in-class and in my review book.

Imo the calculator MC section was easier than the non calculator MC. In any case, I was able to narrow every question down to 2-3 at the most. I left none blank.

I was able to do at least half of every FRQ, but there were 1-2 parts on a few questions that were harder.

I feel like I did very well on the multiple choice. I answered all of the free response parts, but I know for a fact that I messed up some stupid things (signs and limits). What do you think I would get if i average say 6.5/9 and answered about 75-80% of the mc right?

I get 5s on all the practice exams..i'm realllyyyyyy hoping for a 5.

a four at least!

when collegeboard releases the 2008 free response question, do they release the scoring guidelines as well?(like with the alloted points for specific parts of questions)

novagirl: If you averaged 6.5/9, that would total to 39 points for the FRQ.

Assuming you answered all MC and got 80% correct and 20% wrong, you would recieve 33.75 * 1.2 = 40 points on the MC.

40 + 39 = 79, which would be a 5.

btw: I'll be attending nova this fall as well :)

sixthsense, yes.

when does cb release frq answers?

not sure...but your teacher has the FRQ green and blue booklets

Sixthsense, eventually, but not at the same time.

The FRQ questions will be released sometime Friday (after approximately 48 hours have passed from the administration in all time zones) and the scoring guidelines will be released later that summer.
