If I take Calculus 1 at a Community College this summer to get credit at UT, can I take the second one (Calculus 2) next summer or will I be forced to take the second one during my Freshman year at UT ?

Depending on your major, calc II may act as a pre-req for courses further along the degree plan. If so, it would be unwise to delay that track by a year. It is also unwise to take each Calc course a year apart because you’ll likely have forgotten a decent amount of material over that time. Are you aware of the fact that Summer is typically split into 2 terms and Calc I and II can both be completed in one Summer?

In any case, I am not aware of any explicit rule that could force you to take any course, including calculus, at a specific time. It just doesn’t make much sense to do it that way.
