I have to take Calculus 3 this fall.. I am not very good at Calculus 1 or 2 and barely passed both.. How much calculus 1 and 2 is covered in calculus 3 and also what main things will it be focusing on?

Some professors have been easier than others, but Math 233 here is still broadly considered a weed-out class. Expect to be drilled constantly on Calc 1 and 2, while also being introduced to a bunch of generalizing theorems and perhaps even their method of proof. Like I suggested in another thread: if you suspect that you’re poorly prepared, and there’s a tough class in your near future, email the professor, get the textbook early, and study study study!

I didn’t take Calc III at UNC but there is a lot of Calc I and 2 in Calc III. Calculus III is calc in 3 dimensions. I don’t want to dissuade, however, if your foundation in calculus isn’t strong calculus III is going to be extremely difficult because calc III builds upon the concepts of I and II.

I took calc 3 last semester, the comments above are pretty accurate. Calc 2 uses a lot of 1, and 3 uses a lot of 2.
