How important is it to complete BC before freshman year at wharton? I’m a junior, and my school is making it super hard for me to take BC- if i dont take it will it hurt in (a)- admissions and (b)-in case of admition, during college?
thanks.

I think it is important, but less important than you think it may be. See, I took Calc and got a B+/A. You're still going to have to take the equivalent of BC, I think it's Math 104, when you get to Penn. But, they recommend that you have completed Calc because you'll have to take it or either test out of it at Penn.

If BC Calc is available at your school and you do NOT take it, they will wonder why, in which case you must explain what is making it difficult for you to take. They want you to take as much Calc as you can before getting to Wharton.

damn calculus, the bain of my existence.

So is English, I guess...it's "bane."

^hehe nicely put

Most people coming into penn will have taken BC calc, which is pretty much exactly the same as Math 104. However, if you don't take it, you have to realize that many people in math 104 have already learned this material once in high school, and thus it'll be harder to beat the curve. When I came here and took 104, I did because I only got a 4 on the BC exam. I knew pretty much all of the material, and lots of people like me made it more difficult to get an A. Just a heads up.
