Calculus of a Single Variable 7ed for Calculus BC?

we are using Calculus of a Single Variable 7ed for AP Calc AB
(book; <a href="http://college.hmco.com/CollegeCatalog/CatalogController?cmd=Portal&subcmd=display&ProductID=678%5B/url%5D">http://college.hmco.com/CollegeCatalog/CatalogController?cmd=Portal&subcmd=display&ProductID=678</a>)</p>

and i want to selfstudy BC and take BC instead.
is this book cover everything on BC as well??

anyone who did it, how did you guys do this?
pace and everything like that?

I didn't use this book when I took BC last year, but glancing through the Table of Contents on the website, it looks like chapters 8 & 9 cover the extra BC material that AB classes won't cover. If you're self studying for the BC test, you might want to get a book with old FRQ questions and/or ask your teacher for any Calc BC prep materials (old tests?)

in my Calc AB class, we only cover upto ch5 and and few sections on ch6.

(my school has never offered BC, hence no prep materials or whatever.)

Yes, it's a good book. Everything on the exam (plus a little more) is covered in the book with good explanations and exercises. I liked the 6th edition, though. It had the multivariable calc included...They took it out for the 7th edition. :(

Hmm well, it looks like you'll need to study the entire textbook for the BC exam.

It isn't the same as we use for BC but my textbook also covers multivariable material in excess of BC.

Yes, this text contains BC material.

isnt AP Calc AB = (in college) Calculus I and II ?
AP Calc BC = (in college) Calculus II and III ????

on the back of my calculus text, "Calculus of a Single Variable 7ed", says "Calculus I and II"

again, is anyone in BC use this book???
please confirm me, it covers ALL topic in BC exam.

p.s : also do you guys know how much do i gotta get right in order to get 5 on exam?
(mayber %-wise or out of 108 point.??)

We use an old edition (4th, lol) of that book in BC, but yeah, your book covers everything necessary. Multivariable calc is not required for the BC exam.

Dreaming, the answer is no.

Calculus AB is equivalent to Calculus I, and may possibly go into early transcendentals, which may be covered in Calculus II. However, as a solid rule, it is ABSOLUTELY equivalent in content to Calculus I.

Calculus BC is very much Calculus I and II, but definitely not III because it is still single-variable.
