The one that's for math majors is probably more rigorous. The elective for other majors is the one you want to take if you're not math. Any form of Calculus will fulfill the requirements. You'll run into a similar situation with physics I'm sure but there it will be the difference between algebra-based and calculus-based(either works).

I signed up for Math 101 (Single variable Calc 1) but now I think that I am going to drop to Fundamentals of Calculus. It is slower paced (it takes two semesters of fund. of calc to fulfill the Calc 1 class). I still plan on taking calc II, but I think that I need to take the slower calc I class because nearly everyone in the class has already taken calc in high school (the teacher asked for a show of hands), so I think he is going to move through the material really fast and I haven't taken calc before so I think the slower class would be best for me. Also I think it will be an easy A and for premed you definetly need some of these easy a's. The fund. of calc classes fulfill the premed requirements (at least that is what Rice told me, and I know someone at Baylor who took these math classes). I still plan on taking cal II next year.
