Book Help/Confusion

Hi I ordered books a couple weeks back and went back today to check and make sure none of the textbooks changed and sure enough one did. I'm taking Math 32a with Weinstein and when I ordered these two books were listed:

--Stewart (New Low Price)
Calculus (5th) W/ Cd Ilrn Hmwrk & V-mentor
--Stewart
Sg Multivariable Calculus (5th)

Well now today there is an additional "required" book entitled

-Stewart (New Low Price)
Calculus (5th) W/cd/ilrn/single & Multivariable So

Do I need this as well? And also does anyone know if a book is needed for intro to civil engineering 1,no book is listed.
thanks

It's the same thing. The new listing is a package that includes both the textbook (w/ CD, etc.) and the study guides (single and multivar sg is seperate) -- usually at a lower price than seperately purchased.

oh ok cool thanks. can anyone else verify this? i'm just wondering because next to
-Stewart (New Low Price)
Calculus (5th) W/cd/ilrn/single & Multivariable So

and

--Stewart (New Low Price)
Calculus (5th) W/ Cd Ilrn Hmwrk & V-mentor

it says required
thanks again

Same book. According to your first post, the former doesn't include the study guide for single variable calculus.

The latter option is fine for your purposes unless you are tight on money.

ok thanks again, what would people do without this forums? haha

so it looks like i don't need to buy anything else

Gee, I dunno... Call the store up and ask?

what would people do without hibiscuspink's sarcasm? haha

Gee, I dunno... Call hibipink and ask?

C'mon, Emmeline. I'm teaching this man here to fish.

Yes, very good hibipink. I expect good things from you in the future.

yea thats weird... for me (who hasnt ordered anything yet) both are showing up... i was like what... have to get both...?

but hm... im still not sure which one i should get then... both packages are the same price, but the first one comes with "V-mentor" and the 2nd one comes with single var thing... which one do u guys think?

I would get the second option. The v-mentor and ilearn are not used by 99.5% of students and is not required.

thanks!! =]

Sorry if this is a ridiculous question, I have been trying to find the list of books required on my study list.. however I can't find it. I really need to buy the books early ahead before things get more hectic when the quarter starts. Where do they list the books required for the classes? Thanks.

am i at a disadvantage by having the first option?

...well, at least you don't have to lug around the bust of Cicero in your backpack.

Click on the link that Charisma provided. If the books are not listed there, that means that the books has not been officially decided. You are not alone; there are the people enrolled in the class who don't have books yet.

IF you are still worried, post your classes here and someone can give you an idea of what books are to be purchased.

Not at all, you just don't get the single variable version of the solutions manual. I have that ready to jettison. You can buy the first option and buy the single variable solutions manual from me if you wish.
