DD is working on her college list and I want to make sure she will have schools with merit only aid on the list. She has all the stats of top performing students: GPA, tests,EC, possibly NM. Nothing outstanding though. Regular top performing kid. She plan to major in CS or EECS. Any schools not to miss?
Merit aid may be at the privates.
If she’s admitted into USC, she’ll automatically get a half tuition merit award as a NMF (worth ~23k).
Other CA merit schools:
Santa Clara
Pepperdine
Occidental
Loyola marymount
Scripps
I think Chapman has aid as well.
CA isn’t happy hunting grounds for large merit.
University of Redlands
If she’s NM, CSULB has a full-ride scholarship (and a few non-monetary perks) she can apply for: http://web.csulb.edu/divisions/students/presidents_scholars/
Thank you everyone. Which schools ranked in the top 50th outside of California offer good merit? I know she can get free tuition at Alabama, OU and TT. She wants place with no snow and not too far from the large city.
UCF there’s no snow in Orlando:-)
