@artloversplus CSU Monterey Bay is near Salinas where the cost of living is more affordable than the metropolitan areas in Cali. Thanks @Corbett for the updated clarification

My D is in Salinas and I am footing her bill and I live next to CSUEB so I can say the following:

To an OOS student, on campus R&B is not going to make that much of difference on either campus, if he wants to live off campus, I’d say rent might be slightly cheaper in Salinas, but I doubt it make that much difference in Marina or Seaside vs Hayward. Remember Salinas is a large town and its pretty far from Marina, you cannot walk to it. Food will be pretty much the same, now a day, other than meat, you can get most of the fruit and vegetables at 99c only.

The main differences will be the tuition, since CSUMB is no longer a WUE schools.
