Are there any Californians who turned down a U.C. to pay full freight to Georgetown? If so, do you think it was worth it? (I've attended a summer program at Georgetown and have visited the area many times and like it.)

You should ask Calidan, he made the decision between Berk and GU. :) He chose correctly, of course.

I completely rejected (read: didn't even apply) to UCs to go to Georgetown!!!! Hoya Saxa!

(granted, I got a decent tuition scholarship to GU, but I didn't know that at the time)

Yeah I did. I got into Berkeley, LA, and SD, the three that I applied to. My final decision was between berkeley and gtown. I absolutely think it's worth it. I wouldn't be pay like $25000 extra for college if I didn't think georgetown is better. I went to a small private school and I really value attention from teachers which I think is much harder to get at a huge place like berkeley. There are plenty of other reasons too. Just find what's right for you.
