Calling all pre-meds of Cornell, Williams, NYU tandon, and Barnard

Hey guys! First of all I feel absolutely blessed for being accepted into these schools. I was wondering if anyone could tell me their experience with premed at any one of these schools. My decision will be incredibly hard to make, as I’ve gotten pretty much a full ride give or take 5-10k, so money will not be a deciding factor. I must say, I live in NYC so I’m leaning towards Barnard but anyone please give me their input. Thank you :).

your input** sorry

pre-meds are busy people.

Just saying that in case your clarion call doesn’t attract the desired input.

Congrats on your acceptances!

Well if money isn’t a factor, you should go with whichever one you think will be able to help you the most with getting into med school. How you do in your undergrad it vital when applying to med school. You want to be at a good school with a good gpa.

My senior year at Williams, three of my five apartment-mates were pre-med. They ended up at Penn, UCLA, and Minnesota for med school (the MN guy wanted to be close to home–he was from the Twin Cities). Williams pre-meds do exceedingly well in med school admissions.

That said, I’m a huge Barnard fan, and everyone I’ve known who’s gone there has loved it. None of them were pre-meds, though.

@marvin100 Thanks Marvin! Would you say achieving a medical school worthy gpa is difficult at Williams?

Well, I was an English major, haha, but yeah, my pre-med friends worked hard. They had lives, too, though, so it’s doable, and only one of them was the type I’d consider to be exceptionally naturally brilliant.

Hmmm, your four schools include one engineering division and two schools without engineering. Do you plan to major in engineering?

@marvin100 Awesome, thank you so much!
@ucbalumnus Tandon has a biomolecular science major made by various medical schools, so its basically like a biology major but it’s only offered as a BS rather than a BA as well

I picked Barnard :).
