<p>So what's the scoop on this? What's going to happen? How is the Cal athletic department going to get more money to cover the renovation? Are they allowed to charge students (i.e. raise tuition?)</p>
<p>Personally I think the AD needs to be fired for even letting something like this happen. What a royal screw up beyond epic proportions.</p>

<p>The new stadium’s gonna be nice and the facilities will go a long way to attracting recruits for sports. It’s an investment. Pac-12 media rights revenue will help. Cal needed the renovation for life safety, preserve a historic structure and continue momentum with athletic success.</p>
<p>I was ready to fire Sandy Barbour after men’s sports were cut before Pac-12 revenue was realized. However, in retrospect, I think it was all a ploy to drum up financial support from donors.</p>
