Is it true that CALSO is filling up??
Is it worth it to go?
Anyone not going?

Last time I checked, first two~three sessions were already filled up.
I don't know if it is worth $100 or not. It depends on what you get out of it. If you can do everything by yourself without any help, you don't have to go. CalSO website has a what-to-do list for students who can't attend CalSO. It's your choice, but I'd recommend going to the orientation. What is to lose(except $100 and time)? I'm going to the first session.

It usually does fill up for the early sessions. Its almost a requirement to go. If you don't, then you have to wait until all the sessions are complete before they send you your adviser code to log in and get classes for fall semester. I rec that not only do you go, but that you go early, allot of those classes fill up early and you risk getting wait listed for most of your classes.

It is worth it just for that, but you also meet with advisers for your major. breakfast and dinner was really good last year but lunch sucked. hopefully they improved on that.

You have to give a legitimate excuse to not go to CalSo. I think it's worth the money. You get to choose your classes early before it fills up.

does anyone know how we sign up for the the one being held in LA?

chumphree: You have to qualify for Pell Grant

ahh thanks a lot lackofsense

it doesn't even cost EXTRA money. they take the $100 off your tuition fees later. i'll be at the first session.

HLS: They don't take it off. They ADD it towards your tuition fee via CARS.

^^ but that WOULD be pretty sweet if they took it off :)

oh. i read things too quickly i guess (just like i forgot to turn in some of the additional forms in february! but i still made it in!)

sooo who wants to drive up to berkeley together for calso from so cal?? =]]

Flying is pretty cheap. I'll be flying there on Aug.

Actually just finished booking my flight. Did the drive from So Cal two weekends ago and while I've experienced a lot worse, it's still not something I want to be doing about four times in two months.
