So I am a strong applicant all around but my SAT I reading score is pretty weak for CalTech. I know the school puts an extreme weight on SATs, but what is the chance that they will accept someone who is strong in all fields (essays, recs, grades, activities) who has 790 M 24 E, 800 physics, 800 math 2, 790 chem, but a 680 in verbal? (I realize that even if it was a 780, CalTech is still a crapshoot.)
My older brother and I go to the CalTech. To be frank, your chances are looking grim. Without something spectacular like a patent or research paper, it’s going to be nearly impossible to be accepted.
Does anyone who actually goes to Caltech call it “the CalTech” ??
I doubt it, but they are right about the verbal too many applicants with much higher scores
Hey dude, just givin u some hope here but I got accepted last weekend with a 730 in both verbal and math and a 700 and 760 on two subject tests, the scores aren’t all they’re looking for !
