Junior taking AP/IB classes
SAT: 2100s and ACT: 30
(I'll be taking both atleast 1 more time)
Top 2% of school

Do I stand a chance? Or should I totally cross that out of my list?
I'm no valedictorian but I really want to major in engineering so that school seems so perfect.
Only answer if you actually KNOW THE ANSWER or go to Caltech...I'm not asking for your opinion, I just need experienced advice. THANKS :)

You do realize that people that go to Caltech won’t know the answer either, right?

You might have a shot, but it’s hard to give you your reasonable chances without seeing a holistic report of your info. What is your GPA? I’m asking because it isn’t good enough to just take AP/IB courses. You need to be successful in them (vast majority As, maybe a couple of Bs). What are you extracurriculars? Colleges care significantly about what you do outside of the class. If you just sit at home watching TV all day, you probably won’t have a shot. For your SAT and ACT scores, you are in the bottom 25th percentile of admitted applicants, so it’d be a good idea to try to raise your scores. Ultimately, the school is a reach for you, but you do have a slim chance, so it’s probably still worth it to apply if it’s your dream school.
